Our commitment to exceptional care
At Tri-Star Academy, we believe that high-quality care begins with high-quality training. Discover our story, our dedication to excellence, and how we empower facilities and staff in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and beyond.

Our inspiring journey
Tri-Star Academy was born in year of 2025 from a clear observation: a persistent gap between compliance-driven training and the practical, real-world skills caregivers truly need in Community-Based Residential Facilities (CBRFs). While regulatory checklists were often met, staff frequently lacked the confidence, effective coaching, and ongoing support essential to translate classroom knowledge into superior resident outcomes. We saw an opportunity to bridge this gap and elevate the standard of care.

Our unique training approach
Our approach is practitioner-led and competency-focused, combining hands-on, scenario-based skills training with instructor development. This ensures that learning extends beyond the classroom and continues on the floor. We embed person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices into every module, tailoring content to specific facility needs and regulations. Using evidence-informed adult-learning methods—including multimedia, simulation, and regular refreshers—we boost knowledge retention. Post-certification coaching and quality assurance tools ensure that new skills translate directly into safer, higher-quality care for residents.

Why choose Tri-Star Academy?
- Practitioner-led, competency-based training: built from frontline CBRF experience with hands-on, scenario practice and measurable skills, not just seat time.
- Instructor development for sustainability: we train coaches and assessors so learning continues on the floor, improving staff retention and performance.
- Customized, evidence-informed support: tailored materials for your facility and regulations, plus post-certification coaching and QA tools ensure real, lasting improvements.
Our guiding principles
At Tri-Star Academy, our core beliefs shape every aspect of our training and operations:
- Person-centered dignity: every decision and skill prioritizes resident rights, preferences, and individuality.
- Practical competence: real-world, measurable skills matter more than seat time or paperwork.
- Trauma-informed respect: assume histories of trauma and respond with safety, trust, and choice.
- Instructor-as-coach: teaching includes coaching, mentoring, and assessment to embed learning on the floor.
- Continuous improvement: training is iterative; data, feedback, and refreshers drive better outcomes.
- Cultural humility: honor diversity and adapt care to cultural, linguistic, and spiritual needs.
- Integrity and compliance: meet regulatory standards while focusing on meaningful quality, not just checklists.
